Nynas Helps Haiti

A few weeks ago, Nynas donated 500 000 SEK to the help organisation Plan,  working to help children in Haiti.

Nynas was greatly saddened by the devastating earthquake that hit Haiti and the suffering of the people that followed. Nynas quickly took the decision to support Haiti with helping the children, many whom lost their parents and need shelter, food, support and education when the country will be rebuilt.

The donation went to an organisation called Plan that already worked to help children in Haiti and has a local organisation on site in the country. Their mission is promoting child rights to end child poverty.

Plan has a local organisation in Sweden which is part of Plan International. The organisation works in 48 developing countries across Africa, Asia and the Americas. For more information: http://plan-international.org or www.plansverige.org

Nynas is also proud to see individual contributions and one example is Pål Sundqvist from Nynas' IT department. He has been on  temporary leave from Nynas to do volunteer work in Haiti. Through United Nations and the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency, Pål helped developed a humanitarian information center in Haiti.
