In order to fulfil Nynas’ objectives in the field of HSSE&Q and to stimulate continuous improvements, a co-ordinated work method is required based on a common working model, a management system.

The management system contains processes, policies, procedures, instructions, job descriptions etc to guarantee that there is clear information about what has to be done, when, how and by whom. Nynas’ management system is based on the international standards ISO 9001 (quality), ISO 14001 (environment) and OHSAS 18001 (health and safety).

During 2009 Nynas was re-certified in accordance with the three standards. The next re-certification process will be in 2012.

The management system is also closely linked to Bitumen CE Marking related Factory Production Control (FPC) and Laboratory Accreditation ISO 17025 aspects.
